Parent support is not about telling people how to bring up their children.
It’s about supporting each other, sharing experiences and finding out what works.
Children don’t arrive with instruction manuals, and whatever your circumstances being a good parent is never easy. Most of us learn and grow as parents along as we go and sometimes it can be an uphill climb.
All Wirral schools are now offering:
- information for parents whose children are joining a reception class or transferring to secondary school.
- access to parenting groups which are popular and that use tried and trusted methods.
- informal activities such as coffee mornings, cookery or ICT classes and family learning sessions.
Schools which work closely with their parents have:
- more involved parents.
- a far better chance of sorting out any problems or misunderstandings quickly.
- better pupil attitudes and behaviour.
- pupils who achieve better results.
